Meeting Bean

We met this puppy 'Bean at the dog run. She'll need to be a little older before she can really get down because even this little 2.5 month pipsqueak dog was able to knock her over in her enthusiasm. But of course, Anne Marie didn't care at all that the doggy had knocked her over and licked her face! She just plain loves dogs! She thought it was great. I'm still resisting the thought of getting a dog in our house for several years but I think we'll be visiting our share of dogs in the near future. When we pass any dogs or cats on our walks, if I don't follow them, she cries!!

The Park

We went to a park that's fairly close to our house that Nanny Laura told us about. It had a playground that was really nice, a pool, sports fields and courts, and a dog run! I think this might be a place we'll frequent in the coming years! She enjoyed the swing and the School Bus, but remains a little unsure about the slide and the rocker toys. Check out her pictures here.

Charge!

One of her favorite activities now is pulling up the edges to the mats that are on the playroom floor. They are like edges to a puzzle and are fun to pull, chew on, wave around, charge Mommy, and just in general delight in!

11 Months Old!

I know I'm getting later and later on taking these pictures but as you will see in the pictures, Daddy is required at these photo shoots now. She's a big girl now and wants to be on the move...

She's doing all sorts of things now that keep amazing us. She's gotten the concept of "more" in her highchair at least. When she's eating and wants more she'll frantically make the sign until I respond.

She's much more dexterous and changes things easily between her hands and points with her tiny little index finger. Peek-a-boo (or "Where's Anne Marie or Mommy") is a favorite game and it's very cute to see her duck behind the couch arm and then pop back up. Another favorite game of ours that seems to fascinate her is the "Mommy's nose, Anne Marie's nose. Mommy's mouth, Anne Marie's mouth..." We play music alot and she'll even start swaying/bouncing a little - hard to really call it dancing but it's darn cute.

She's getting attached to a few loveys, although there isn't one that seems to be a clear winner yet. We have confined the paci to the crib (and long car rides, a few diaper changes, and church nursery - see below). When I get her up, we lean over the crib and she drops all pacis (one for the mouth and a few in the hands) back in. She's gotten really good about it!

We're battling some pretty pronounced separation anxiety and much to my nanny's dismay, she cries when she walks in the door now, although to Laura's credit at least, she cries when anyone comes in the door (other than Andy) thinking that Mom is going to leave. Church nursery is causing quite a bit of turmoil in her little world - even when Daddy sits there with her the whole time. We've had August nursery duty and we've had to switch with the person in her room because she wouldn't calm down. I don't know what well do next week when she'll really be on her own... I am betting our little beeper will be vibrating before the sermon is up!

She's still going to bed very well though, praise the Lord! If she wakes in the middle of the night now (which is fairly rare), she's usually calmed by just holding her for a few minutes and then she's ready to get back down in her crib and sleep. She's started hugging and it instantly liquefies my heart when she puts her head on my shoulder and snuggles in.

All in all, she's amazing and we can hardly believe that we have this utterly marvelous little person in our life!

Big Time Walker

I'm on the loose

She's a real walker now - and with her new shoes she was able to explore the world outside on her own two feet for the first time. We took a walk... and she walked! She investigated every leaf, pine cone and oil stain we came across. It is amazing to watch someone discover the world! Check out her playroom antics and big walk here.

New Shoes!

New Shoes!

Since she's really walking now, we went and got her real walking shoes last night. She's a girl after Grandmomma's own heart - she seemed to really like the shoe store! Next time you're in town Mom, I know where Anne Marie is going to want to go. We tried on a bunch but these worked the best for the remainder of the summer/early fall. She'll need new ones in about three months anyways. She's really really cute in these and she's ready to keep up with (and probably run ahead of) Mom now.

Toofers!

See my tooth, Mom?

Anne Marie now has two teeth... or at least the makings of two teeth. One (visible) is farther along than the other, which is just barely poking through. Won't be long now, and, as Andy says, she's just won't be a baby anymore with a mouthful of teeth! Our little girl is growing up!

Happy Birthday To You!

Sarah Jane is TWO! We had a great time at her party - eating all her favorite foods... hotdogs being the centerpiece! Sarah Jane got some great presents but unwittingly let Anne Marie have the best thing she got - the tissue paper from the gift bags. You can check out our Kingsport pictures here.

Papa's on the floor!

Big Smiles!

We went to Kingsport a few weekends ago. We all decided that there were few people who could get Papa Earl onto the floor - apparently Anne Marie is one of them. She showed Papa Earl her walking and magazine distribution skills.

New Blogging Style

After seeing a friend's blog, I've decided I like their style. I'm going to try to blog smaller events more often rather than saving up and then being intimidated by the amount of work needed to upload many pictures and write a long entry... we'll see if this will help me get more info and pictures to you more often. :)
